Day Three Photo- Someone You Miss

Meet Grandmommy...for those of you that do not know her. This is my dad's mom and this photo was taken last year on her 90th birthday. She is still alive and I see her weekly. The reason I "miss" her though is because of her Alzheimer disease...she is not the same Grandmommy anymore. She does not remember my name, she can not cook for herself or take care of everyday hygiene herself. She sees horses at the door and people come out of her TV and try to take over her home. Little girls float around in her back yard and steal her milk. My uncle steals and wears her shoes. In fact, we all steal from her. Sounds funny, and we have to laugh to keep from losing it, because it is just really really sad.

She has always been the most made up, best dressed, most proper woman you would ever meet. Always friendly no matter what, soft-spoken always and loves everyone. Now, she yells and screams at anyone she has to wait on or that is ahead of her in line (like at the dentist office or hair salon), she cusses and talks bad about people, she accuses everyone of stealing and lying, and such. It is horrible.
We are moving her to a home this week where she can be seen after 24 hours a day. I think this will help tremendously and hopefully stimulate her mind a little more. Please pray for her during this time...and us too! :)

Anyway, that is why I miss my Grandmommy. The same could apply to my Nanny, but she still has her mind sometimes. And my grandfathers...I miss them so, but do not have a photo readily available without scanning.
