I. Heart. Food.

The title says it all. I love food. Only there is a catch to that...I love UNHEALTHY food. There, I said it. I have been trying to motivate myself to eat healthier and the last few days I have been doing well.
*Baby steps though*
I know if I go all out, I will get sick of the change quickly and go back to my old ways even quicker. Is that a word?? It doesn't sound right. Hmmmm.

Anyway...here a few of my favorite things:

Chick-fil-a Fruit Cup-I eat out way too often. Generally I pick up a chicken biscuit or chicken minis any mornings that I drop Mason off with Grandma in Denton. Well this has now changed over to a fruit bowl...I get the LARGE. I like it because it does not have melons. Ew.
Salmon is a cholestorol fighting food and I happened to see these packets for $1 each at Target the other day...a quick snack and not too bad.

Boiled shrimp- low fat and lots of protein and tasty too. I was never a shrimp person until I got pregnant with Mason and now I love it. Random. It is a good snack, meal, appetizer...whatever
Yoplait Light Fat Free Yogurt- Okay, so this has some sugar in it, but trust me...the Red Velvet yogurt is better for me than the huge slice of red velvet cake I would normally eat. My one question...how on earth do they get these yogurts to taste so much like the actual dessert?? This is my new go-to when I am craving cake/cookie/etc. I actually crave yogurt now which is way weird. Cracker Barrel 2% Milk Sharp Extra Sharp Cheddar- so maybe cheese is not a good healthy choice, but this stuff is amazing. I actually buy the snack size so it is under 100 calories and has a good amount of protein. I limit myself to 1 every couple of days. Oh so good though. Sometimes I eat it between 2 whole grain crackers. Yummo.Bumble Bee Tuna- I have always been a tuna eater. and always solid white albacore...my mom spoiled me with the "good stuff" growing up. And my Grandmother spoiled me with the Bumble Bee brand. It's expensive!! But I love it and sometimes I splurge on it. Generally I go with a cheaper brand, but why does this one taste sooo much better??

And I am learning to embrace the side salad...replacing chips with lettuce is hard, but it is working out fine and I still feel full.
Some other things I love:
-Zuchini sauteed in a little olive oil and oregano and a sprinkle of low-fat feta on top
-Boiled squash with a little seasoning
-Any kind of baked fish...tilapia with lemon, salmon cooked any way. I have some Mahi mahi that I am going to try soon.
-BallPark 99% fat free all white meat turkey franks...these are delish with some relish and a few sprinkles of cheese. I used to eat them on Weight Watchers and they were 1 point a piece.
- Extra lean Ground turkey- I cant really tell a difference except that my tummy doesnt hurt when dinner is over.
- Mixed Berries with cool Whip FREE

Anyway...things are going pretty good right now. I still have a long way to go, but it's a start. :)

These all are great suggestions and look yummy. I hate seafood though, but the other stuff looks to die for! <3 I'm sure you'll do great. When work is back in, I'm so horrible about going to Chick-fli-a myself. I love, love, love their Multigrain Chicken Bagels. I've always wondered about the fruit cups. I do love their yogurts though! I'm sure their fruit cups are just as nice! I don't know if I possess the will power to avoid the chicken yet though, so will avoid going until I can resist. lol :)
