It has been quite some time since I have updated my blog. Things have been incredibly busy...and stressful. We have been through a lot the past 4-5 weeks with Mason. We had an infection scare that set him back a couple of weeks...luckly, no infection thank goodness. He had a blood transfusion as well. The main hold up was his eating though. Preemies have a hard time figuring out how to suck, swallow, and breath all at the same time. White boys have the hardest time learning to eat. Anyway, after 3 weeks of waiting on that I felt like giving up. Finally the doctors decided to let me come stay at the NICU with him and try to get him to eat myself. It WORKED! I was the first person they have ever let do that and he literally went from being tube fed 50% of the time to eating on his own 100% of the time in a day. We were home 2 days later. I hope this is something they continue to let moms do after Mason's success. Sometimes these little ones just need their mommy. :)
Anyway, we were in the NICU for 2 months and 7 days and he got to come home on his due date. I REALLY didnt think that would happen, but here we are...
Here are some new pictures of our precious boy! He is a little over 6 pounds now. He didnt gain for a couple of weeks, but hopefully he is on the right track now. Thanks to all that have been praying for us! We appreciate more than you could ever know! :)
In my "going home" clothes! :)

Congrats to you all. I know what it's like to spend so much time in the NICU (almost 4 months for us) and it is definately a huge relief just to walk out of that hospital with your baby. He's such a cutie.
YAY!!!! I am so happy for you guys! I have been praying for all three of you! Enjoy all your time at home with Mason and I hope to meet him soon!
