Santy Clause

We took Mason to visit Santa at Bass Pro shop this weekend. Let me tell you...we have practiced MANY MANY MANY times what to ask Santa for..."a kitchen to cook-cook". He was a pro at it! So the big moment came...we were next in line. I asked Mason one more time to confirm "okay, what are you going to ask Santa for?" "DISHES mommy!" Something we had NEVER discussed or practiced...but he asked for dishes. It is a really good thing that Santa knows that dishes are needed to run a sucessful kitchen!! HA.

The Reason

I know that we all know "The Reason for the Season" as the saying goes. This time of year we should reflect on the true meaning of Christmas...that Jesus Christ was born, but more than that...he was sent to SAVE US. I admit it, I get WAY too wrapped up in gift-giving, Santa, Christmas lights, holiday food, toy shopping, Etc. Sometimes I forget that all of that is just "stuff" that over-shadows what I really should be focused on. I have been trying really hard to talk to Mason every day about the above manger scene. I love that he points out "baby Jesus" moreso than the other figures...though he does have an obsession with the sheep too. Maybe there is some symbolism there OR maybe he just really loves sheep. Anyway, I am writing this post to remind MYSELF the true meaning of Christmas. The part that I should be focused on.

What do you do that really focuses on Christ's birth in your homes? For your children, so that they too can focus on "baby Jesus"?

Choo Choo Halloween

Since Mason is obssessed with trains right now, I thought it was fitting for him to be a train engineer for Halloween. That way he could carry around his Thomas engines and it could be a part of his birthday attire (train them of course). Anyway, here is the cutest train engineer you have ever seen(sorry, I am a little bit biased)! :)

Fun Fall Days- Part 2

This weekend we had a lot of fun. We spent Saturday at the Fort Worth Stockyards with the entire Graham family. For some, this may not sound too exciting, but I am totally a country girl at heart. I love the history, the animals, the atmosphere. I really enjoyed watching Mason as he called EVERY longhorn we saw "Bevo". He'd say "Two Bevo's" if he saw more than one longhorn. Sorry, but that is just cute! We walked around, enjoyed Cattleman's restaurant, took many photos, and just had a good time.

Sunday after church and nap time, mom and dad came over and we took Mason to a Pumpkin Patch in Argyle. It was a beautiful day...overcast with a little cool breeze. Mason had the best time riding the train and picking out pumpkins. We may have to go back because it was such a neat place.

Anyway, picture time...

Fun Fall Days

Fall is by far my favorite time of year. It a time of much celebration ---my wedding anniversary, my birthday, Mason's birthday, Thanksgiving, mom/brother/father-in-laws b-days, Halloween (although I am not a huge fan of this holiday, I do like seeing all the dressed up kiddos). Also, the weather is perfect...I mean really I could live with this weather most of the year and be fine! The trees are starting to change in to many beautiful colors...I LOVE that!

As a result, we have spent a lot of time in celebration (just getting started) and a lot of time outside with Mason. I am convinced he would live outdoors if I let him...who needs a play room inside when you have leaves and grass and airplanes and choo choos and bugs outside??

Anyway, here are a few pictures from our latest adventures:
